Hurricane/Emergency Preparedness and Flood Insurance Issues

The hurricane season is upon us.  Discuss appropriate preparations, precautions, security, insurance and protection for your family, pets, home and possessions.  Also, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, developed a new preliminary flood plain map.  If you are located within the new flood plain zone, you may be required to purchase flood insurance.  Learn if you are affected, how to save money on flood insurance and options for homeowners’ insurance. Please join Leg. Denenberg for presentations on hurricane/emergency preparedness and flood insurance issues.  Guest speakers include Mr. Gary Conte, Warning Coordination Meteorologist for NOAA National Weather Center; James Callahan, commissioner of the Nassau County Office Emergency Management; Mr. Theodore Fisch, Regional Director of the New York State Emergency Management Office; Mr. Peter Reinharz, County Attorney’s Office; Mr. John Brooks, Nassau County Risk Management Office; and Ms. Nancy Lynch, President of Pet Safe Coalition.  A question and answer session will follow.
