IS YOUR ROAD IN POOR CONDITION?
Road rehabilitation is crucial. Numerous roads in our community have not been resurfaced or repaved in many years. Pothole repairs are often temporary at best and may never resolve poor road conditions. Moreover, plows, street cleaning, and road conditions may cause curbing deterioration which lead to drainage problems. Report a poor road in your neighborhood and request that the town undertake a full road rehabilitation project.
Potholes create a danger to both motorists and pedestrians. Further, water can accumulate in potholes when it rains, creating additional problems. To alleviate hazardous conditions that may exist in your neighborhood, report a pothole.
SAY NO TO AQUA'S 150 FT HIGH WATER TOWER IN WANTAGH
A 150 foot high, 500,000 gallon water tower in Wantagh negatively affects your quality of life and the market values of homes in the immediate vicinity. A water tower on DeMott Avenue, certainly alters the nature and character of this neighborhood. The unique look and appearance of this beautiful block and surrounding neighborhood would be diminished by erecting a tremendous water tower. The beauty of the entire neighborhood would be lost forever. Download the form letter in opposition and let your voice be heard.
If your live on a narrow residential street with families with young children, the installation of a Children at Play sign would alert motorists to proceed with caution along your street. Request such signage by reporting a portion of the road
Many roads on the south shore of Long Island flood during rain storms and high tides, resulting in water accumulation on that road as well as adjoining side streets. Flooding on roads cause environmental and safety hazards. To alleviate hazardous condition that may exist in your neighborhood, report a flooding issue.
When motorist traveling on your road drive reckless and/or at excessive speeds, they put you and your family at risk. An increased traffic device, specifically a stop sign, reduces speeding. Request a stop sign by reporting an intersection, please indict which direction.
Illegal rentals have a profound adverse impact on our quality of life. Properties containing illegal apartments violate town code and may be under assessed by the Nassau County Department of Assessment. Report an illegal apartment in your neighborhood and request that the town enforce town code and the county assess the property as it is being used.
